10 down, 10 to go

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

I’ve finally lost ten pounds! It has taken me since the middle of January to do this. No, I did not break down and order cheap diet pills online. I counted calories and I counted servings and I got frustrated and it’s been an off and on struggle for the entire 5 months. And I get to keep on doing it for another 10 pounds.

Businesswoman

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

have owned and operated several businesses in my life. None of them have been franchises either; they’ve all been one or two gal shows run alone or with a good friend. Well, two good friends, one at a time. I like working for myself, because I have some control over the workload. But it’s also precarious because I have to drum up the work, and it can be pretty scary putting yourself out there.

The tower of doom

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

I am once again so very behind in my reading that it isn’t even funny. In fact, I never got caught up. The pile of books just shrinks and grows and is never really depleted. Same with magazines. And this weekend, I actually intended to spend some quality with ink printed paper, and ykw? Every time I sat down, someone needed something. Eventually, I will get to read. I promise me.

I know I talked not too long ago about my lack of knowledge on finances, and how I should really spend a bit of time finding out more about it. Not enough to become a futures broker or anything, but enough to understand the relative merits of some basic investments: cds, stocks and the like. YKW? I still haven’t done that. I’ve had other priorities. And YKW else? I can live with that.

Coffee

See those coffee cups? I picked this theme partially because of those. I love me some coffee. Espresso. Cappucino. All of it! I’ve yet to meet a coffee beverage I did not like. If I had the space, I would totally get into some of those fancier drinks, like you can make with these capresso machines. For now, though, I drink regular coffee from a plain coffee maker, and visit Starbucks as often as possible.
