Wonder Who I’ll See?

Friday, May 18th, 2007

If you read my other blogs, you know I am going to Las Vegas in November. I was wondering today if I’ll see anybody famous. I know that there are stars who own Las Vegas Real Estate, so it’s possible. I keep kidding my family by saying I am going to meet Gil Grisam. The first time I said it, they were all like “wow, that’s cool”. Umm, guys, he’s not real, ya know?

ACM Awards

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

It had been my intent to live blog the ACMs last night, but other things precluded that. Now you are stuck with warmed-over first impressions, and that’s just not nearly as fun. I guess it was no shock that Kenny Chesney won Entertainer of the Year again, for the third year in a row. He’s a fine singer and all, but it’s about time to move on, I think.

I was real pleased that George Strait won Single and Song of the Year for “Give it Away”. Ya’ll–that’s a real song.

And ? She just needs to give up the pop stuff right on up. The girl is country, plain and simple, and she does it very well. I was embarrassed for her last night.

Fall Line-up

Monday, May 14th, 2007

has announced it’s fall line-up. (a fave of DH) has been axed, but will be back in full force. There are some new shows that sound interesting to me

NBC will remake “” with Michelle Ryan in the title role.
New series “” is about a San Francisco newspaper reporter who travels through time to alter people’s lives, and “” is a thriller about a computer geek who becomes a government agent after spy secrets are embedded in his brain.

I wonder what the other networks will be offering. Will this be the season that sees YKN live-blogged from in front of the set? It could happen, but I’m not counting on it.

Interestingly enough, the tickets are priced at 31.21 pounds, a reference to his recent number 1 album.

Paris going to Jail?

Monday, May 7th, 2007

America’s quintessential bad girl may be doing time. She was sentenced late last week to 45 days for violating her probation. Of course, an appeal is planned, so it will be awhile before we know if she’s going to be a visitor at the graybar hotel. DO you think she should go to jail? Do you think it will do any good? Or will she still be America’s favorite irresponsible brat?
