My ears bled

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

Seriously! Is there an entertainment blogger who doesn’t watch ? Wanting to be able to share my views on the show with you, my loyal readers, I tuned in last night. Ok, honestly I turned it on because my friend said I should. It was awful. I could only make myself listen to two of the singers before I canned it. Blech! I love ya’ll and everything, but if you want to hear about AI, you’ll have to read it somewhere else!

Gunsmoke, Ron Jeremy and the Mob

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

One of my all time favorite shows is Gunsmoke. You know it was a radio show long before it was on TV right? I still think Matt Dillon is hott, and the slightly risque Miss Kitty is all that and then some.

A few days ago, I listened to a few chaptersThe Capo’s Mistress by Richard Harris. It’s Harris’ first novel, and he’s offering a free audio download until April 27th, when the hardcopy will be available. Now, the hero of the book is another MD, in the person of Mike Driscoll, an alcoholic ex-cop with a soft spot for a pretty face. The beautiful lady in this case is not Miss Kitty, but Mary Carter. She’s run a-foul of the Mob in Las Vegas, and Mike valiantly tries to get her out of a jam. The book is fun in a campy sort of way, and the character development is pretty good. I felt like I had a good grasp of the main characters by the middle of chapter two.

So what does Ron Jeremy have to do with anything? I’m not telling. You’ll have get the book to find out. You can pre-order The Capo’s Mistress at Amazon, or download The Capo’s Mistress for free until April 27.

Let me get this straight

Donald Trump and Vince McMahon duked it out to see who would end up bald. Only, they didn’t really fight, they each picked a wrestler to do their fighting for them. Except Trump did punch Vince a few times, his wrestler won, Vince got shaved, but referee Steve Austin gave the Don his signature “stunner”. And they called it entertainment. The event drew over 80,000 fans, a new record for Ford Field. Think I’m lying?
