Fashion Week?

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

So, I saw a commercial today about Fashion Week. Wth is that? Apparently it’s a very big deal, since they mentioned Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush. Yahoo to the rescue: Fashion Week. Umm, ya’ll?? I don’t find those clothes very attractive. Just click and watch the scrolling pictures for a round or two, and I think you’ll agree. It’s just not much better than volcom clothing and way spendier.

Thanks, Google!

So, if you are one of those types of people who pays attention to PR, then you have probably noticed that my little PR bar has no green. This blog is ranked a big fat ZERO. You Know Not, right? But it’s true, and I can’t really say I’m surprised. In fact, if I were to order promotional pens for this blog, I thnk that instead of YKN!, they’d just say WTH?

And now a word…

I spent a delightful evening watching Star Trek TNG with my fam. It was a wonderful, commercial free time. And now, they are watching some bizarre show on regular television and it is one commercial after another. So now, I have a new definition to add to the cassicon ( that’s like cass’s lexicon, only fewer syllables, see?)–television network=commercial collection agency. Ha, I slay myself.

Blithering Idiots

I was privileged(??) to watch the news this morning while waiting for my son;s surgery to be over, and I happened to catch a bit of Robin & Company. I caught a snippet of a story on birth control in middle schools, and I was shocked to discover that 48% of the people who called to vote thought that was a good idea. Only 52% said no.

Hello? Middle school is grades 6-7-8. Kids that age are as emotionally equipped for sex as they are for job searches and mortgages! Duh!! I’m hoping that the vote was so messed up because most parental type units were at work, and only kids were home to call. Because really, folks who would vote that way need to get a clue. And they also need to get a job working with troubled not-even-teens who’ve been turned onto sex way too early.

Too much trouble?

TheClone blogged the other day about Marie Antoinette’s pearls being sold at auction. The owner says they just live in a bank vault, not being used and enjoyed. Which brings to mind the question of whether or not it is possible for jewelry to be more trouble than it’s worth? Maybe the owner needs the money, but I’d be willing to guess that the worry that comes with owning such a magnificent piece of jewelry must be equally as magnificent.

The pearls were in a bag that Marie gave to Lady Sutherland before her death. The bag also contained diamonds which were made into a necklace.
