Life for Death

Friday, October 19th, 2007

I read today on CNN that Rex Ditto was sentenced to life in prison for murdering Alan Shalleck. Shalleck helped write the Curious George television series, and also worked with Margaret Rey on some of the books in the series. The terms of his plea agreement mean that he will not be eligible for parole.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether he will be in a real prison or one of those country clubs with cable tv and wireless routers. Let’s hope it’s the former, since in addition to murder, he’s guilty of stealing part of the magic of childhood. Yeah, we are big Curious George fans here.

It’s almost time

for CSI, It’s almost ti-i-ime for CSI. It’s Thursday, you see, and pretty soon the girls and I will start singing that. And when we sing it, we do it all up in our noses so we sound like the chipmunks. Yes, this is how we amuse ourselves. Got a problem with that?

Gossip Much?

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

Do you like to gossip? I’ve occasionally *cough, cough* used this space to dish some dirt. Not all the time, but now and again. You know. Or You Know NOT! as the case may be. But my gossiping abilities pale next to Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl is a bare all kind a girl, a tell everything girl, a girl in the know. She’s got the inside scoop, and she’s double dipping for your viewing pleasure.

See this Gossip Girl on The CW preview?

Wait a minute, back up. Let’s start at the beginning, and not get ahead of ourselves. There’s a new show on CW, and it’s called Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl is an anonyblogger, and she blogs about a group of friends, generally causing a ruckus. The thing is, we don’t know the identity of Gossip Girl and neither does the group of friends.

The show is based on the novels of Cecily von Ziegesa, which I will definitely have to investigate further. Perhaps if I “read ahead” far enough and fast enough, I can figure out who she is. Unless it’s a him. It could be a him. Hmmmmm.

Journeyman. Again.

Are you still watching Journeyman? I am! I also spent a few minutes playing with the interactive timeline they have up on NBC, tonight. And I played the games. I’m warning you now that those concentration cards move. You’ll need to start from the bottom.

JourneyMan

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Oh boy! Phoenix real estate. And Dear Henry! I thoroughly enjoyed this show, and am even contemplating live blogging the episodes. Oops, I think I started at the end, didn’t I? Let me back up to the beginning!

You may recall (or maybe not, because I can’t even find the post now) that I was interested in NBC’s new show Journeyman. I tuned in last night, and if you can’t tell from the above, I thoroughly enjoyed this show. Yes, even to the point of knocking David Caruso off his Monday Night Throne. Journeyman rocks that hard! I’ve already announced my intentions of watching it weekly to DH. The show meets somewhere in the middle of Quantum Leap and The Time Traveler’s Wife. In fact, I credit my reading of TTW with my ability to understand and enjoy the show from the beginning, as DH was lost until the end. The final scene seemed to bring it clear to him, though.

My suggestion? Get the book, read the book, watch the premiere online, and meet me back here next Monday night. This one has made a TV watcher out of me again. It’s just that good.
