Love Movies

Monday, September 17th, 2007

If you have a family the size of mine, and if you love moviesw the way we do, then you might want to check into these popcorn machines. They cost less than I thought they would, and would make a super cute, yet very usable decoration in a media room. I like the antique looking ones myself, but, too bad for me, I don’t have a media room.

Get Famous

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

Do you have a great idea and need a video to demonstrate or get your idea across? You don’t have to corral your friends and relations into performing for you. You can actually buy hd film stock footage to use however you want! The footage is sold royalty free. That means that once you buy it, you can use it wherever you gnat, however you want for as long as you want. It’s yours. The site is pretty simple to use. You can search by keyword, or browse by category. But listen, if you decide to check out the “arts” category, be careful. When I went to check it out, there was a shot of a person getting a tattoo, and there was, umm, a lot of red in that. I don’t think it was ink, either. Just sayin’

The Bourne Supremacy

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

Yep, you know we watched The Bourne Supremacy, too! Since I complained about Matt Damon in the last post, I’ll note that he looked almost old in this one to pull his character off, and that made this one much more enjoyable for me. Call me a realist, I can take it. You don’t need a head full of Dell memory to realize a teenager probably doesn’t have the life skills to be a trained assassin. Just sayin’

I do have to commend the special effects in all these movies. There was an intense water scene in this one, and also in Ultimatum, and they were incredibly realistic. And if it wasn’t special effects, then the stunt coordinator was masterful.

The movie moves at a good pace, and will keep you hooked from the beginning. I think I forgot to breathe during the India chase scene. And if I say one more word, I’ll be giving away major plot points.

The Bourne Identity

Monday, August 20th, 2007

After the girls saw The Bourne Ultimatum, and I told them there had been two prior movies, they just had to see them. I have to confess that Matt Damon was far too young in to be convincing as a secret agent. He really didn’t look a day over 16, and it was hard to believe he actually had the experience to do the job. Marie (Franka Potente), however, was totally believable in that hacked-off-hair-and-no-jewelry gritty heroine kind of way. The movie was good, though, and if you can get past that face-of-freshness, some would even say excellent. Especially if they were 12 and 14 year old girls.

Impromptu

Friday, August 17th, 2007

We watched Impromptu last week. I have to say I was not overly impressed, though I may have had higher expectations after Quilt. Honestly, Hugh Grant was the saving grace of the film, I’ve never seen him that I didn’t think he did a fine job. Bernadette Peters, whom I expected to enjoy was sorta….enh, , and the gal who played George Sands was as interesting as cabinet hardware. Overall, I’m really glad that I don’t have to pay Blockbuster by the rental, because this one would not have been worth the money.
